School in Paghman district in Kabul, Afghanistan. Summer 2003. The students are studying on the floor of their destroyed classrooms. They complain from too much dust in their class, when you look at their books you can see the dust over their books and bags. One of the student (12) said: “Yes we understand, we have dusty classrooms and everything else is destroyed. But we dont want these small things to prevent us from education. Well you see… i dont really understand why scientists keep prioritizing inventions that make life more convenient for the people when what they REALLY should be focusing on is the preservation of life.
I’m no biologist, but that tree looks pretty messed up. I dont think trees are supposed to have acne. What could be the cause of it? Is it water? Does that stuff eventually go into our tap water? Are we drinking that stuff? Is anyone gonna fix this tree?
This is kinda like how people are spenin money on things that make life more convenient for themselves, when they should really be focusing on helping the people that need help the most. Why buy 15 organic apples for $8 when it can buy you 25 fruit trees for farmers in Honduras to grow and sell fruit at their local market ?

He also helped make our wedding, enabled us to get away from the horrible cliched music that would normal be played at a Japanese reception because they dont understand the words. He told me he was pretty pumped to be a wedding with other foreigners who appreciated his music. I guess this is instead of being the random and sole foreigner doing “black” music (japanese music stores actually often arrange music by “black”) for lots of old (and young)people who know its cool, but dont know why.
